January 25, 2023: Johannesburg, MI 49751 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Onaway Cardinals (Onaway, MI) and the host Johannesburg-Lewiston Cardinals (Johannesburg, MI), saw Onaway's basketball squad knock off Johannesburg-Lewiston by a tally of 73-58.
With the victory, Onaway improves its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Cheboygan (Cheboygan, MI) to play the Chiefs in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 27. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a record of 5-7. Cheboygan won 62-53 in their recent non-league challenge against Inland Lakes (Indian River, MI)
Next up, the Cardinals play the Forest Area Warriors (Fife Lake, MI) in a Ski-Valley challenge, on Friday, January 27. Johannesburg-Lewiston will attempt to improve on its 0-11 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 0-8 record after their 82-35 league loss to Mancelona (Mancelona, MI).
