Texas High School Basketball - West Orange-Stark nudges Vidor
January 25, 2023: Orange, TX 77631 In Wednesday's league outing, the West Orange-Stark Mustangs (Orange, TX) basketball squad edged the visiting Vidor Pirates (Vidor, TX), by a count of 67-64.
The Mustangs (2-18) will now prepare for their outing against Lumberton (Lumberton, TX). The Raiders go into the 4A Region III District 19 outing with a 14-13 record. In their last outing, Lumberton held off Tatum (Tatum, TX), 85-78, in a non-league outing.
The Pirates now hold a 15-15 record. They play next when they host Silsbee for a 4A Region III District 19 outing on Friday, January 27. Vidor will clash with a Tigers squad coming off a 99-62 league win over Bridge City (Bridge City, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 17-12.

West Orange bookkeeper incorrectly removed a point in a tie game 57-57 without informing the referee, because she missed a free throw. West Orange then looked back and knew they were incorrect and reported the score with that point, but the final was actually 67-63.
