New Mexico High School Basketball - Wingate holds off Thoreau
January 25, 2023: Fort Wingate, NM 87316 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) and the visiting Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), saw Wingate's basketball squad hold off Thoreau by a tally of 35-34.
With the victory, Wingate improves its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Bears host Cuba (Cuba, NM) to confront the Rams in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 27. The Rams come into the challenge with a record of 5-1.
Next up, the Hawks confront the Crownpoint Eagles (Crownpoint, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 27. Thoreau will attempt to improve on its 2-3 season record.
