Cornerstone Eagles (Birmingham, AL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Vincent Yellow Jackets (Vincent, AL), 52-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Cornerstone upgrades its record to 6-14 on the season. The Eagles host Westminster School at Oak Mountain (Birmingham, AL) to play the Knights in a 2A Area 8 bout on Friday, January 26. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 9-15. Westminster School at Oak Mountain won 50-48 in their recent league bout against Holy Family Catholic (Birmingham, AL)

Next up, the Yellow Jackets play the Talladega County Central Fighting Tigers (Talladega, AL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 26. Vincent will attempt to upgrade on its 7-13 season record.
