Washington High School Basketball - Meridian trounced by Lakewood
January 25, 2025: Arlington, WA 98223 Lakewood Cougars (Arlington, WA) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Meridian Trojans (Bellingham, WA), 39-17 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Lakewood advances its record to 12-1 on the year. The Cougars host Mt. Baker (Deming, WA) to face the Mountaineers in a non-league match on Thursday, January 30. The Mountaineers enter the match with a record of 9-5. Mt. Baker won 43-27 in their recent non-league match against Oak Harbor (Oak Harbor, WA)
The Trojans now own a 3-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ferndale for a non-league match on Tuesday, January 28. Meridian will face a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 43-36 non-league win over Burlington-Edison (Burlington, WA). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 11-5.
