In Thursday's league outing, the Anthem Prep Eagles (Anthem, AZ) basketball squad beat the visiting Mayer Wildcats (Mayer, AZ), by a count of 49-37.

The Eagles (8-12) will now prepare for their outing against North Valley Christian Academy (Phoenix, AZ). The Lions go into the 1A Central outing with a 3-23 record. In their last outing, North Valley Christian Academy was topped by Desert Heights Prep (Glendale, AZ), 40-28, in a league outing.

The Wildcats now hold a 3-16 record. They play next when they host Bagdad for a non-league outing on Monday, January 30. Mayer will clash with a Sultans squad coming off a 42-22 league loss to San Pasqual Valley (Winterhaven, CA). The Sultans record now stands at 6-15.
