North Carolina High School Basketball - Union Academy nudges North Stanly

January 26, 2023: Monroe, NC 28110

Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting North Stanly Comets (New London, NC), 49-46 in a league bout.

With the win, Union Academy upgrades its record to 11-6 on the season. The Cardinals host Gray Stone Day (Misenheimer, NC) to clash with the Knights in a 1A/2A Conference 35 bout on Friday, January 27. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 3-13. Gray Stone Day lost 66-22 in their recent league bout against Albemarle (Albemarle, NC)

Next up, the Comets clash with the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls (Norwood, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 27. North Stanly will attempt to upgrade on its 17-2 season record.
