Texas High School Basketball - Oakwood holds off Avalon
January 26, 2024: Oakwood, TX 75855 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Oakwood Panthers (Oakwood, TX) and the visiting Avalon Eagles (Avalon, TX), saw Oakwood's basketball squad hold off Avalon by a tally of 33-29.
With the victory, Oakwood improves its record to 9-15 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Coolidge (Coolidge, TX) to confront the Yellowjackets in a 1A Region IV District 26 challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a record of 14-6. Coolidge won 64-56 in their recent league challenge against Milford (Milford, TX)
Next up, the Eagles confront the Bynum Bulldogs (Bynum, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 26 challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Avalon will attempt to improve on its 6-16 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 9-11 record after their 56-36 league loss to Penelope (Penelope, TX).
