Covington Trojans (Covington, IN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host North Vermillion Falcons (Cayuga, IN), 62-58 in a league bout.

With the victory, Covington upgrades its record to 8-9 on the campaign. The Trojans host Southmont (Crawfordsville, IN) to play the Mounties in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Mounties come into the bout with a record of 6-5. Southmont lost 58-44 in their recent league bout against Lebanon (Lebanon, IN)

Next up, the Falcons play the Chrisman Cardinals (Chrisman, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 29. North Vermillion will attempt to upgrade on its 9-8 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 7-13 record after their 75-45 non-league loss to Paris (Paris, IL).
