January 26, 2024: Derby, CT 06418 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Waterbury Career Academy Spartans (Waterbury, CT) and the host Derby Red Raiders (Derby, CT), saw Waterbury Career Academy's basketball squad knock off Derby by a tally of 80-63.
With the victory, Waterbury Career Academy improves its record to 10-4 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Torrington (Torrington, CT) to play the Raiders in a Naugatuck Valley challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 8-5. Torrington won 95-55 in their recent league challenge against Oxford (Oxford, CT)
Next up, the Red Raiders play the Wolcott Eagles (Wolcott, CT) in a Naugatuck Valley challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Derby will attempt to improve on its 3-9 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 1-12 record after their 79-36 league loss to Ansonia (Ansonia, CT).
