January 26, 2024: Hartwell, GA 30643 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA) and the host Hart County Bulldogs (Hartwell, GA), saw Monroe Area's basketball squad overcome Hart County by a tally of 69-60.
With the victory, Monroe Area improves its record to 16-5 on the campaign. The Purple Hurricanes host Franklin County (Carnesville, GA) to confront the Lions in a AAA Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 11-9. Franklin County won 59-55 in their recent league challenge against Stephens County (Toccoa, GA)
Next up, the Bulldogs confront the Hebron Christian Lions (Dacula, GA) in a AAA Region 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Hart County will attempt to improve on its 10-11 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 18-2 record after their 72-58 non-league loss to Gray Collegiate Academy (West Columbia, SC).
