The Newton Rams (Covington, GA) basketball felled the visiting South Gwinnett Comets (Snellville, GA), 83-75 in Friday's league test.

The Rams (15-4) will now prepare for their test against Brookwood (Snellville, GA). The Broncos go into the AAAAAAA Region 4 test with a 12-10 record. In their last test, Brookwood was beaten by Grayson (Loganville, GA), 79-57, in a league test.

The Comets now own a 11-10 record. They play next when they travel to Parkview for a AAAAAAA Region 4 test on Tuesday, January 30. South Gwinnett will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 78-53 league loss to Archer (Lawrenceville, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 5-17.
