Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Independence Eagles (Thompson's Station, TN) and the host Centennial Cougars (Franklin, TN), saw Independence's basketball squad hold off Centennial by a tally of 52-45.

With the victory, Independence improves its record to 6-11 on the campaign. The Eagles host Page (Franklin, TN) to confront the Patriots in a 4A District 10 challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 14-7. Page won 56-21 in their recent league challenge against Summit (Spring Hill, TN)

Next up, the Cougars confront the Brentwood Bruins (Brentwood, TN) in a 4A District 10 challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Centennial will attempt to improve on its 3-17 season record. The Bruins come into the challenge with a 17-2 record after their 66-52 league win over Franklin (Franklin, TN).
