The Melissa Cardinals basketball team scored 47 points and restricted the host Sherman Bearcats to 30 in the Cardinals league victory on Friday.

The Cardinals now sport a 20-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Denison for a 5A Region II District 13 contest on Tuesday, January 30. Melissa will battle a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 59-27 league loss to Lovejoy (Lucas, TX). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 10-16.

The Bearcats (4-19) will now prepare for their contest against Greenville (Greenville, TX). The Lions come into the 5A Region II District 13 contest with a 0-26 record. In their last contest, Greenville was defeated by Melissa (Melissa, TX), 94-12, in a league contest.
