The Ariton Purple Cats basketball team scored 65 points and held the visiting Long Rebels to 53 in the Purple Cats league triumph on Friday.

The Purple Cats now sport a 15-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Providence Christian for a non-league contest on Monday, January 30. Ariton will battle a Eagles team coming off a 61-50 league win over Ashford (Ashford, AL). The Eagles record now stands at 14-8.

The Rebels (5-17) will now prepare for their contest against Houston Academy (Dothan, AL). The Raiders enter the non-league contest with a 25-2 record. In their last contest, Houston Academy ran past Headland (Headland, AL), 48-47, in a non-league contest.
