Georgia High School Basketball - Athens Academy succumbs to Union County
January 27, 2023: Blairsville, GA 30512 The Union County Panthers topped the visiting Athens Academy Spartans basketball team by a final score of 78-63 in Friday's league game.
In their next game, the Panthers face the Banks County Leopards (Homer, GA) in a AA Region 8 game, on Tuesday, January 31. Union County will attempt to move on its 15-7 season record. The Leopards enter the game with a 15-7 record after their 69-31 league win over Fellowship Christian (Roswell, GA).
With the defeat, Athens Academy moves to 13-8 on the year. The Spartans travel to Providence Christian Academy (Lilburn, GA) to face the Storm in a AA Region 8 game on Tuesday, January 31.
