The Long Reach Lightning basketball team scored 80 points and held the host Oakland Mills Scorpions to 59 in the Lightning league triumph on Friday.

The Lightning now sport a 12-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Atholton for a Howard County contest on Monday, January 30. Long Reach will battle a Raiders team coming off a 63-61 league loss to Marriotts Ridge (Marriottsville, MD). The Raiders record now stands at 7-7.

The Scorpions (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against Howard (Ellicott City, MD). The Lions enter the Howard County contest with a 4-7 record. In their last contest, Howard was routed by Wilde Lake (Columbia, MD), 69-45, in a league contest.
