Hyannis Longhorns (Hyannis, NE) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Mullen Broncos (Mullen, NE), 51-47 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Hyannis upgrades its record to 4-9 on the campaign. The Longhorns host Hay Springs (Hay Springs, NE) to play the Hawks in a D2 District 12 bout on Friday, February 3. The Hawks come into the bout with a record of 13-3. Hay Springs lost 50-32 in their recent non-league bout against Hemingford (Hemingford, NE)

Next up, the Broncos play the Hershey Panthers (Hershey, NE) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Mullen will attempt to upgrade on its 5-9 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 14-5 record after their 57-39 league loss to Chase County (Imperial, NE).
