January 27, 2023: Opelousas, LA 70570 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Westminster Academy Crusaders (Opelousas, LA) and the visiting North Central Hurricanes (Lebeau, LA), saw Westminster Academy's basketball squad overcome North Central by a tally of 60-44.
With the victory, Westminster Academy improves its record to 11-4 on the campaign. The Crusaders travel to St. Edmund (Eunice, LA) to confront the Fighting Blue Jays in a 1A District 6 challenge on Friday, February 3. The Fighting Blue Jays come into the challenge with a record of 12-4. St. Edmund won 61-22 in their recent league challenge against Opelousas Catholic (Opelousas, LA)
Next up, the Hurricanes confront the Sacred Heart Trojans (Ville Platte, LA) in a 1A District 6 challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. North Central will attempt to improve on its 3-9 season record.
