January 27, 2023: Bushnell, FL 33513 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the South Sumter Raiders (Bushnell, FL) and the visiting Wildwood Wildcats (Wildwood, FL), saw South Sumter's basketball squad hold off Wildwood by a count of 38-35.
With the victory, South Sumter upgrades its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Raiders host Hernando (Brooksville, FL) to play the Leopards in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Leopards come into the challenge with a record of 11-6. Hernando won 52-47 in their recent non-league challenge against Citrus (Inverness, FL)
Next up, the Wildcats play the Umatilla Bulldogs (Umatilla, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Wildwood will attempt to upgrade on its 12-5 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 7-8 record after their 67-57 non-league loss to Eustis (Eustis, FL).
