Georgia High School Basketball - Clarke Central topped by Union Grove
January 27, 2024: Athens, GA 30605 The Union Grove Wolverines basketball team scored 77 points and restricted the host Clarke Central Gladiators to 69 in the Wolverines non-league victory on Saturday.
The Wolverines now sport a 15-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Dutchtown for a AAAAA Region 2 contest on Tuesday, January 30. Union Grove will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 48-44 league loss to Eagle's Landing (McDonough, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 14-8.
The Gladiators (11-12) will now prepare for their contest against Heritage (Conyers, GA). The Patriots come into the AAAAA Region 8 contest with a 7-15 record. In their last contest, Heritage prevailed over M.L. King (Lithonia, GA), 60-57, in a non-league contest.
