January 27, 2024: Valdez, AK 99686 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Valdez Buccaneers (Valdez, AK) and the visiting Galena Hawks (Galena, AK), saw Valdez's basketball squad wallop Galena by a tally of 83-28.
With the victory, Valdez improves its record to 11-2 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to Ben Eielson (Eielson AFB, AK) to confront the Ravens in a 3A Aurora challenge on Friday, February 2. The Ravens come into the challenge with a record of 1-11. Ben Eielson lost 53-48 in their recent league challenge against Hutchison (Fairbanks, AK)
Next up, the Hawks confront the Delta Huskies (Delta Junction, AK) in a 3A Aurora challenge, on Friday, February 2. Galena will attempt to improve on its 4-3 season record. The Huskies come into the challenge with a 7-5 record after their 54-39 non-league win over Hutchison (Fairbanks, AK).
