Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Mt. Vernon Wildcats (Mt. Vernon, IN) and the visiting Pike Central Chargers (Petersburg, IN), saw Mt. Vernon's basketball squad hold off Pike Central by a count of 61-58.

With the victory, Mt. Vernon upgrades its record to 9-7 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Princeton (Princeton, IN) to play the Tigers in a Pocket challenge on Thursday, February 1. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 12-4. Princeton won 54-34 in their recent league challenge against North Posey (Poseyville, IN)

Next up, the Chargers play the North Posey Vikings (Poseyville, IN) in a Pocket challenge, on Thursday, February 1. Pike Central will attempt to upgrade on its 9-8 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 12-3 record after their 54-34 league loss to Princeton (Princeton, IN).
