Vermillion Tanagers (Vermillion, SD) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Parkston Trojans (Parkston, SD), 57-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Vermillion upgrades its record to 8-4 on the season. The Tanagers host Madison (Madison, SD) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Monday, January 29. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 6-6. Madison lost 62-51 in their recent non-league bout against Roncalli (Aberdeen, SD)

Next up, the Trojans play the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars (Salem, SD) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Parkston will attempt to upgrade on its 9-4 season record. The Fighting Cougars go into the bout with a 3-10 record after their 72-30 non-league loss to Sioux Valley (Volga, SD).
