Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Trinity overwhelms Hempfield Area
January 27, 2024: Washington, PA 15301 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Trinity Hillers (Washington, PA) and the visiting Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA), saw Trinity's basketball squad wallop Hempfield Area by a count of 44-21.
With the victory, Trinity upgrades its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Hillers travel to Moon Area (Moon Township, PA) to play the Tigers in a WPIAL 5A 4 challenge on Monday, January 29. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 12-6. Moon Area won 31-26 in their recent non-league challenge against Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Coraopolis, PA)
Next up, the Spartans play the Seneca Valley Raiders (Harmony, PA) in a WPIAL 6A 1 test, on Monday, January 29. Hempfield Area will attempt to advance on its 7-9 season record. The Raiders go into the test with a 9-4 record after their 66-44 league win over Butler (Butler, PA).
