Hopkins Royals (Minnetonka, MN) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Maple Grove Crimson (Maple Grove, MN), 68-62 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hopkins upgrades its record to 16-2 on the season. The Royals travel to Minnetonka (Minnetonka, MN) to clash with the Skippers in a AAAA Section 2 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Skippers go into the bout with a record of 18-0. Minnetonka won 73-48 in their recent non-league bout against Providence Academy (Plymouth, MN)

Next up, the Crimson clash with the Spring Lake Park Panthers (Spring Lake Park, MN) in a AAAA Section 5 bout, on Thursday, February 1. Maple Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 14-3 season record.
