The Velva Aggies basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting Tioga Pirates to 56 in the Aggies non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Aggies now sport a 10-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Powers Lake/Burke Central for a non-league contest on Thursday, February 1.

The Pirates (10-5) will now prepare for their contest against Bishop Ryan (Minot, ND). The Lions enter the non-league contest with a 6-11 record. In their last contest, Bishop Ryan nudged Glenburn (Glenburn, ND), 55-34, in a league contest.
