The French Settlement Lions (French Settlement, LA) basketball were winner over the visiting Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA), 62-54 in Monday's league bout.

The Lions now possess a 20-14 record. They play next when they host Loranger for a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 28. French Settlement will play a Wolves team coming off a 54-42 league loss to Lakeshore (Mandeville, LA). The Wolves record now stands at 9-21.

With the loss, Pope John Paul II falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Jaguars host Livingston Collegiate Academy (New Orleans, LA) to play the Wolves in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 29.
