In Friday's league test, the French Settlement Lions (French Settlement, LA) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Independence Tigers (Independence, LA), by a score of 50-39.

Next, the Lions encounter the Walker Wildcats (Walker, LA) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, January 21. French Settlement will attempt to improve on its 18-14 season record.

The Tigers (14-10) will now prepare for their test against Abramson (New Orleans, LA). The Commodores come into the non-league test with a 3-15 record. In their last test, Abramson was knocked off by Bogalusa (Bogalusa, LA), 44-32, in a non-league test.
