In Monday's non-league test, the Independence Tigers (Independence, LA) basketball squad knocked off the visiting East St. John Wildcats (Reserve, LA), by a score of 81-66.

Next, the Tigers clash with the St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons (Hammond, LA) in a 2A District 9 test, on Friday, February 7. Independence will attempt to improve on its 16-13 season record.
