In Friday's league contest, the host St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons basketball team scored a close 48-45 win over the Independence Tigers.

The Falcons (11-10) will now prepare for their contest against Mandeville (Mandeville, LA). The Skippers come into the non-league contest with a 19-18 record. In their last contest, Mandeville was tipped by Ponchatoula (Ponchatoula, LA), 49-36, in a league contest.
