In Monday's non-league contest, the visiting Newark Central Blue Devils basketball team scored a close 56-52 triumph over the Marion P. Thomas .

The Blue Devils (3-11) will now prepare for their contest against Columbia (Maplewood, NJ). The Cougars go into the Super Essex - American contest with a 5-12 record. In their last contest, Columbia was tipped by Colonia (Colonia, NJ), 73-48, in a non-league contest.
