In Monday's league contest, the visiting Corinth Holders Pirates basketball team scored a close 59-57 win over the Willow Spring Storm.

The Pirates (9-7) will now prepare for their contest against Southeast Raleigh (Raleigh, NC). The Bulldogs come into the 4A Greater Neuse River contest with a 16-1 record. In their last contest, Southeast Raleigh edged South Garner (Garner, NC), 57-49, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Storm battle the Garner Trojans (Garner, NC) in a 4A Greater Neuse River contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Willow Spring will attempt to better on its 9-6 season record. The Trojans come into the contest with a 8-9 record after their 67-52 league loss to Cleveland (Clayton, NC).
