New York High School Basketball - Coxsackie-Athens nudges Watervliet
January 27, 2025: Watervliet, NY 12189 The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Coxsackie-Athens Riverhawks (Coxsackie, NY) and the host Watervliet Cannoneers (Watervliet, NY), observed Coxsackie-Athens's basketball team edge Watervliet by a score of 55-52.
The Riverhawks (15-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Maple Hill (Castleton on Hudson, NY). The Wildcats come into the Section 2 Patroon challenge with a 8-6 record. In their last challenge, Maple Hill edged Hudson (Hudson, NY), 64-9, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Cannoneers encounter the Chatham Panthers (Chatham, NY) in a Section 2 Patroon challenge, on Friday, January 31. Watervliet will attempt to improve on its 2-8 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 2-7 record after their 52-25 non-league loss to Voorheesville (Voorheesville, NY).
