North Carolina High School Basketball - Union can't hold off North Duplin

January 27, 2026: Calypso, NC 28365

In Tuesday's league contest, the host North Duplin Rebels basketball team scored a close 45-38 triumph over the Union Spartans.

The Rebels (3-11) will now prepare for their contest against East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC). The Eagles go into the contest with a 4-10 record. In their last contest, East Bladen nipped Hobbton (Newton Grove, NC), 52-40, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Spartans battle the Lakewood Leopards (Roseboro, NC) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 30. Union will attempt to better on its 9-2 season record. The Leopards enter the match with a 4-9 record after their 60-47 non-league win over West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC).
