The Luling Eagles basketball team scored 73 points and held the visiting Nixon-Smiley Mustangs to 70 in the Eagles league triumph on Friday.
The Eagles now sport a 9-15 record. They put it on the line next when they host Stockdale for a 3A Region IV District 26 contest on Tuesday, February 1. Luling will battle a Brahmas team coming off a 53-33 league win over Randolph (Universal City, TX). The Brahmas record now stands at 19-8.
The Mustangs (17-7) will now prepare for their contest against Great Hearts Monte Vista (San Antonio, TX). The enter the 3A Region IV District 26 contest with a 6-10 record. In their last contest, Great Hearts Monte Vista was nudged by Great Hearts Northern Oaks (San Antonio, TX), 64-48, in a league contest.
