Texas High School Basketball - Northwest knocked off by Richland

The Richland Royals basketball team scored 41 points and held the visiting Northwest Texans to 32 in the Royals league triumph on Friday.

The Royals now sport a 13-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Birdville for a 5A Region I District 6 contest on Tuesday, February 1. Richland will meet a Hawks team coming off a 65-39 league loss to Lake Dallas (Corinth, TX). The Hawks record now stands at 3-19.

The Texans (16-11) will now prepare for their contest against Denton (Denton, TX). The Broncos enter the 5A Region I District 6 contest with a 13-17 record. In their last contest, Denton ran past Colleyville Heritage (Colleyville, TX), 31-27, in a league contest.
