Virginia High School Basketball - Floyd County holds off Staunton
January 28, 2023: Staunton, VA 24401 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA) and the host Staunton Storm (Staunton, VA), saw Floyd County's basketball squad hold off Staunton by a tally of 66-59.
With the victory, Floyd County improves its record to 14-4 on the campaign. The Buffaloes travel to Glenvar (Salem, VA) to confront the Highlanders in a Three Rivers challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Highlanders come into the challenge with a record of 12-7. Glenvar won 60-52 in their recent league challenge against Alleghany (Covington, VA)
Next up, the Storm confront the Broadway Gobblers (Broadway, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Staunton will attempt to improve on its 14-4 season record. The Gobblers come into the challenge with a 10-8 record after their 68-37 league win over Turner Ashby (Bridgewater, VA).
