January 28, 2023: Wilmington, DE 19801 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Freire Charter School Wilmington Dragons (Wilmington, DE) and the visiting Providence Christian Academy Griffins (Elkton, MD), saw Freire Charter School Wilmington's basketball squad hold off Providence Christian Academy by a count of 63-61.
With the victory, Freire Charter School Wilmington upgrades its record to 4-5 on the campaign. The Dragons host Liguori Academy (Philadelphia, PA) to play the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, February 1. The Falcons come into the challenge with a record of 3-7. Liguori Academy won 56-52 in their recent non-league challenge against Valley Forge Baptist Academy (Collegeville, PA)
Next up, the Griffins play the Tome Titans (North East, MD) in a Mid-Atlantic Independent challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Providence Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Titans come into the challenge with a 0-7 record after their 53-44 non-league loss to Bohemia Manor (Chesapeake City, MD).
