January 28, 2023: Braidwood, IL 60408 The Reed-Custer Comets (Braidwood, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Iroquois West Raiders (Gilman, IL), 52-47 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Comets (19-4) will now prepare for their test against El Paso-Gridley (El Paso, IL). The Titans go into the non-league test with a 12-11 record. In their last test, El Paso-Gridley got by LeRoy (LeRoy, IL), 67-55, in a league test.
The Raiders now own a 17-5 record. They play next when they travel to Hoopeston for a Vermilion Valley test on Tuesday, January 31. Iroquois West will encounter a Cornjerkers squad coming off a 64-50 league loss to Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin (Bismarck, IL). The Cornjerkers record now stands at 13-12.
