January 28, 2023: Newton, GA 39870 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Westwood Wildcats (Camilla, GA) and the host Baker County Bears (Newton, GA), saw Westwood's basketball squad wallop Baker County by a tally of 44-14.
With the victory, Westwood improves its record to 7-11 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Southwest Georgia Academy (Damascus, GA) to encounter the Warriors in a GIAA AA Region 3 test on Tuesday, January 31. The Warriors go into the test with a record of 12-6. Southwest Georgia Academy lost 61-48 in their recent league test against Citizens Christian Academy (Douglas, GA)
The Bears now own a 1-6 record. They play next when they travel to Highland Christian Academy for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 31. Baker County will encounter a EAGLES squad coming off a 42-36 league loss to Fullington Academy (Pinehurst, GA). The EAGLES record now stands at 4-10.
