Virginia High School Basketball - Virginia Episcopal School nips New Covenant
January 28, 2023: Lynchburg, VA 24503 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Virginia Episcopal School Bishops (Lynchburg, VA) and the visiting New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA), saw Virginia Episcopal School's basketball squad hold off New Covenant by a tally of 49-45.
With the victory, Virginia Episcopal School improves its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Bishops host Covenant (Charlottesville, VA) to play the Eagles in a challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 12-2. Covenant won 53-39 in their recent league challenge against Carlisle (Axton, VA)
Next up, the Gryphons play the Hargrave Military Academy Tigers (Chatham, VA) in a challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. New Covenant will attempt to improve on its 10-5 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 5-2 record after their 51-38 league loss to Carlisle (Axton, VA).
