Virginia High School Basketball - North Cross holds off New Covenant
February 2, 2023: Lynchburg, VA 24501 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the North Cross Raiders (Roanoke, VA) and the host New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA), saw North Cross's basketball squad hold off New Covenant by a tally of 38-34.
With the victory, North Cross improves its record to 9-3 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Roanoke Catholic (Roanoke, VA) to confront the Celtics in a challenge on Monday, February 6. The Celtics come into the challenge with a record of 7-7. Roanoke Catholic won 26-20 in their recent league challenge against Eastern Mennonite (Harrisonburg, VA)
Next up, the Gryphons confront the Timberlake Christian Tornadoes (Forest, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 3. New Covenant will attempt to improve on its 10-6 season record. The Tornadoes come into the challenge with a 2-10 record after their 45-35 league loss to Temple Christian (Madison Heights, VA).
