Louisiana High School Basketball - Welsh bested by Iowa
January 28, 2025: Welsh, LA 70591 Iowa Yellowjackets (Iowa, LA) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the host Welsh Greyhounds (Welsh, LA), 60-47 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Iowa advances its record to 17-13 on the year. The Yellowjackets travel to LaGrange (Lake Charles, LA) to face the Gators in a 4A District 3 match on Friday, January 31. The Gators enter the match with a record of 5-22. LaGrange lost 69-53 in their recent non-league match against Marksville (Marksville, LA)
The Greyhounds now own a 5-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Oberlin for a non-league match on Wednesday, January 29. Welsh will face a Tigers squad coming off a 98-17 non-league loss to Pitkin (Pitkin, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 1-23.
