January 28, 2025: Champaign, IL 61822 St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans (St. Joseph, IL) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL), 85-33 in a league match.
With the victory, St. Joseph-Ogden advances its record to 15-5 on the year. The Spartans host Monticello (Monticello, IL) to face the Sages in a Illini Prairie match on Friday, January 31. The Sages enter the match with a record of 12-9. Monticello won 55-43 in their recent league match against Prairie Central (Fairbury, IL)
The Sabers now own a 9-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to DeLand-Weldon for a non-league match on Wednesday, January 29. St. Thomas More will face a Eagles squad coming off a 57-32 league loss to Arthur-Okaw Christian (Arthur, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 1-13.
