January 28, 2025: Alva, OK 73717 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Alva Goldbugs (Alva, OK) and the visiting Woodward Boomers (Woodward, OK), observed Alva's basketball team knock off Woodward by a score of 63-44.
The Goldbugs (17-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Tonkawa (Tonkawa, OK). The Buccaneers come into the non-league challenge with a 6-13 record. In their last challenge, Tonkawa was knocked off by Newkirk (Newkirk, OK), 46-37, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Boomers encounter the Liberal Redskins (Liberal, KS) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 31. Woodward will attempt to improve on its 9-7 season record. The Redskins come into the challenge with a 8-5 record after their 63-54 non-league win over Tonganoxie (Tonganoxie, KS).
