Illinois High School Basketball - Goreville tops Woodlawn
January 29, 2022: Woodlawn, IL 62898 Goreville Blackcats (Goreville, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Woodlawn Cardinals (Woodlawn, IL), 63-46 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Goreville upgrades its record to 14-6 on the campaign. The Blackcats host Johnston City (Johnston City, IL) to play the Indians in a Black Diamond - East bout on Tuesday, February 1. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 6-13. Johnston City won 55-54 in their recent non-league bout against Wayne City (Wayne City, IL)
Next up, the Cardinals play the Sesser-Valier Red Devils (Sesser, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 1. Woodlawn will attempt to upgrade on its 4-16 season record. The Red Devils come into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 42-31 league win over Trico (Campbell Hill, IL).
