The Mineral Point Pointers nipped the host Southwestern Wildcats basketball squad by a tally of 71-67 in Thursday's league game.

The Pointers now possess a 11-3 record. They play next when they host Johnson Creek for a non-league game on Saturday, January 31.

With the loss, Southwestern falls to 13-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Iowa-Grant (Livingston, WI) to confront the Panthers in a Southwest Wisconsin Activities game on Tuesday, February 3. The Panthers go into the game with a record of 8-5.
