January 3, 2023: Columbia, IL 62236 The Columbia Eagles (Columbia, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Highland Bulldogs (Highland, IL), 62-58 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Eagles (14-2) will now prepare for their test against Freeburg (Freeburg, IL). The Midgets go into the Cahokia - Mississippi test with a 10-5 record. In their last test, Freeburg got by New Athens (New Athens, IL), 90-35, in a non-league test.
The Bulldogs now own a 10-6 record. They play next when they travel to Waterloo for a Mississippi Valley test on Friday, January 6. Highland will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 63-34 non-league win over Southwestern (Piasa, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-9.
