Illinois High School Basketball - Breese Central tops Columbia
February 7, 2023: Columbia, IL 62236 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Breese Central Cougars (Breese, IL) and the host Columbia Eagles (Columbia, IL), saw Breese Central's basketball squad knock off Columbia by a count of 50-39.
With the victory, Breese Central upgrades its record to 23-4 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Freeburg (Freeburg, IL) to play the Midgets in a Cahokia - Mississippi challenge on Friday, February 10. The Midgets come into the challenge with a record of 20-9. Freeburg lost 53-44 in their recent non-league challenge against Wesclin (Trenton, IL)
Next up, the Eagles play the Roxana Shells (Roxana, IL) in a Cahokia - Mississippi challenge, on Friday, February 10. Columbia will attempt to upgrade on its 25-3 season record. The Shells come into the challenge with a 10-18 record after their 55-40 non-league loss to Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL).
